AmaNoTo Heaven's Door-Tokubetsu Junmai
"Go local" is the motto of this Akita-based brewery. All the sake brewing resources and staff are from Akita, which is not so usual as breweries often the source rice and even labor from other prefectures. Ginnosei rice is grown within sight of the brewery.
91 Points, Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar, 2007
"Very pale yellow-straw color. Spicy, assertive aromas of green apple, flowers, mint and fresh herbs. Juicy, lively and light on its feet, with subtle fruitiness in a rather ethereal style. Complex and refined. From all locally grown rice."

Tasting Notes
With sweet rice aromas surrounded with floral fresh herb spiciness, this slightly dry, medium-bodied sake has mouthwatering apple flavors with an agreeable earthiness on the mid-palate. Clean and focused on the finish that accentuates its rice-like qualities. Also available in 300ml bottles.
