Azienda Agricola Montaribaldi
|
Montaribaldi has always belonged to the
Taliano family, and extends throughout the commune of
Barbaresco,
over about 19 ha. In 1994, the sons
Luciano and Roberto took over direction of the estate, and were
determined to preserve the great wine-making traditions of the region,
despite the oaky, high-alcohol trends of the international market. Montaribaldi sells nearly 40% of its production in Europe (in Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Holland and Belgium) and about 30% in the USA. This year, the farm anticipates about 6,300 bottles of Barbaresco 2003 “Sorì Montaribaldi,” about 7,000 bottles of Barbaresco 2003 “Palazzina,” and about 6,000 bottles of Barbera “Du Gir”. Dolcetto “Nicolini" will yield only about 3,000 bottles, while only 3,000 bottles of 2004 “Gambarin”, a refined and full-bodied Nebbiolo, will be produced. The farm also produces three white wines of note: Roero Arneis, a Chardonnay aged in barriques, and a lovely and agreeable Moscato d'Asti. |
